We are pleased to extend an invitation from the Delegation of the European Union to the United Arab Emirates. 

Members are invited to the first Webinar on “R&I cooperation opportunities in Horizon Europe between the EU and the Gulf countries”, which will take place online on 30 March 2026 from 13:30 to 15:00 GST  (11:30–13:00 CET).

The event is organised by the European Commission and hosted by the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This online session will outline the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation ‘Horizon Europe’ and show why it is important that the EU and the Gulf Region enhance their R&I cooperation.

During the session some concrete collaboration opportunities offered under the Horizon Europe Work Programmes 2026-2027, launched mid December 2025, will be presented as well as the modalities of participation. Speakers will present the programme’s structure, explain how international partners can participate, and highlight selected call topics relevant to partnership between the EU and the Gulf Region, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and the green transition, as well as health and AI.

The event will also be an opportunity to meet virtually with possible interested stakeholders and applicants from both the EU and all the countries from the Gulf Region.
