Handling KSA Business from the UAE - Legal and Tax Considerations

The Belgian Business Council with support of Aurifer & Schluter Graf would like to invite to the breakfast session: Handling KSA Business from the UAE - Legal and Tax Considerations.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is the biggest economy within the GCC and part of the top 20 economies worldwide (G20). Foreign investments in the KSA are often structured from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). KSA recently implemented changes in its taxation and foreign direct investment framework. Industry expert speakers are invited to discuss the legal and tax aspects of handling KSA business from the UAE.

Dr. Constantin Frank-Fahle, LL.M.: Constantin is a senior lawyer with SCHLÜTER GRAF Legal Consultants (Dubai, UAE). Prior to joining SCHLÜTER GRAF Legal Consultants he worked for international law firms in Berlin, Munich and Bangkok and the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (EKONID) in Jakarta. He advises foreign investors on structuring their investments in the region (in particular in the oil & gas and plant construction industry), resolving disputes (arbitration and litigation services) and adjacent matters. Constantin regularly talks and publishes about legal developments in the GCC region.

Mr. Thomas Vanhee: Thomas founded Aurifer, a boutique tax firm established in Dubai. After a decade of working at tier 1 tax law firms in Brussels and Paris, and after having been seconded with Deloitte in the Gulf, it was time to spread his wings and personally serve the exciting Gulf market. He has been involved in several high-profile deals and have worked for blue chip and quoted companies and institutions in various sectors. In recent years Thomas has also been heavily involved in tax policy in Europe and the Gulf. Recently, he has been assisting businesses in assessing their readiness for the introduction of VAT on 1 January 2018. He is also teaching VAT at Paris Sorbonne Abu Dhabi in the first tax LL.M of its kind in the Gulf. He also joined his former university (Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management) to teach an introductory course on tax law to master students
