Conference Overview

During his matches, Frank acts as a firm yet supportive leader, managing 22 players in addition to his team of assistant referees. In a 90-minute football match, a referee makes an average of 245 decisions. Therefore, he must be prepared to make a decision every 22 seconds, taking into account the stakes and the pressure surrounding the match (before, during, and after), as well as the roles of each participant who can influence the consequences of decisions made during the game.

Analysis and decision-making must be swift to keep pace with rapidly changing situations and events, to strengthen leadership among the players, manage tense situations and conflicts, choose the best decision, stand by it, clarify rules, and motivate the players to stay focused for the full 90 minutes, regardless of the circumstances.
